Football-Obsessed College Head Stepping Down

Last year, The Dayton Daily News reported of Ohio State president E. Gordon Gee and his $8.6M salary (highest in public universities) and his $7.7M worth of expenses. The report showed Ohio State compensated $895,000 for gatherings at the president’s mansion, which was remodeled for $1.3 million and decorated with $673,000 in decorations and furnishings (including a $532 shower curtain in the guest bathroom). Despite the news that $64,000 alone was spent on bow ties and bow tie-related accessories, Ohio State stood by Gee.
Tuesday, E. Gordon Gee announced he will step down at the end of the month. He's in trouble for making offensive jokes at a athletic department meeting, saying you can't trust Notre Dame's catholics and SEC athletes can't read or write.
