Another Example Of Your Hollywood Execs In Action

In the late 1980's, Paramount Studios were looking into making a feature film of the BBC standard Doctor Who, according to the new book Now On The Big Screen: The Unofficial And Unauthorised Guide To Doctor Who At The Cinema. And as Paramount readied to take on the project in 1988, they decided on their first choice as The Doctor:


Yes, fresh-off-of-Moonwalker Micheal Jackson.
And if he wasn't available, second choice was fresh-off-of-Leonard Part 6 Bill Cosby.
Even though Jacko was "quite keen" in the role, the movie was never made. The BBC finally canceled Doctor Who after it's 26th year in 1989, following years of sagging ratings, negative reviews, and behind-the-scenes turmoil.
And now you know how Grown-Ups 2 got green-lighted.
